Larry Sng still PBM president, says ROS

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Larry Sng is still the Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president according to Registrar of Societies (ROS) records, says its director-general Mohd Nawardi Saad.

He said that the tussle within the party for the president’s post must be resolved internally.

“That is an internal party problem, and it is a dispute which they have to resolve on their own. It does not involve the ROS,” Berita Harian reported, citing Mohd Nawardi.

He was responding to the crisis in the party as Sng has claimed that he was still the legitimate president of the party while some party members have claimed that Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin is now the PBM leader.

The Julau MP has denied that he has resigned as PBM president.

Refuting a recent report that he has been replaced by Zuraida, Sng said due process needs to take place in order for a proper handing-over.

Sng took to social media on Friday (Oct 28) night to announce that he has decided to suspend 12 supreme council members including Haniza for undermining the party’s interest and its leadership as per clause 60 (iii) of the party’s constitution.

He also announced the suspension of Zuraida “as an ordinary member of PBM”.

PBM deputy president Haniza Talha, who was one of the 12 supreme council members suspended, had said that the decision to make Zuraida the president was made in the party’s AGM on Oct 1, adding that it was carried out as per the party’s constitution.
