Investigation paper on Tommy Thomas’ book sent to Bukit Aman for further action
KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation paper involving Tan Sri Tommy Thomas’ (pic) book, “My Story: Justice in the Wilderness”, has been sent back to Bukit Aman for further action.
Police Force secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Norsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the investigation paper was referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers and received again on Oct 25.
“We received the investigation paper with instructions for some further action to be taken to complete the investigation.
“The Royal Malaysian Police is in the process of completing the investigation as instructed, and the investigation papers will immediately be referred to the Attorney General’s Office for further advice and instructions,” she said in a statement on Friday (Oct 28).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was quoted saying that the former attorney general was believed to have committed four offences based on the investigation into the contents of his memoirs.
He said the offences could fall under the Penal Code, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act or the Official Secrets Act (OSA).
“We will leave this to the relevant authorities, if it is a MACC case, then MACC will investigate, if it is under the Penal Code, the police will investigate,” he told a press conference after attending a special briefing on the 15th General Election and the North-East monsoon at Bukit Aman here on Tuesday (Oct 25).
