GE15: Cops tracking down culprits who cut down BN flags in TTDI

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are on the trail of those responsible for vandalising several Barisan Nasional flags and posters in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the Lembah Kiara Barisan branch Youth chief lodged a report on the matter on Monday (Nov 7).

“The flags and posters were vandalised at Jalan Athinahapan and Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi. The flags and posters were cut from their perches,” he said when contacted on Tuesday (Nov 8).

There were no closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in both areas, he said.

“We are investigating under Section 427 of the Penal Code and are in the midst of tracking down those responsible for the vandalism,” he added.

ACP Amihizam advised all individuals to refrain from committing any form of provocation, especially those involved in the 15th General Election (GE15)

“We hope politicians will be able to control their supporters from committing unlawful acts. We urge those with information on any criminal activity to contact Brickfields police at 03-22979222, KL police hotline at 03-21159999 or any nearest police station,” he said.
